EXHIBITION STATEMENT
 
The Australain Ceramic Assocation biennale exhibition is curated by Susan Ostling, lecturer, Fine Arts, Queensland College of Art, Griffith University. The exhibitions intention is to provide a map, gather, assemble and reflect on current ceramic practices, leading to focused and rigorous lines of inquiry.

"This is a conversation - between the tension of use and placement, singularity and cluster. Interestingly, Kate Dorrough identifies creating conversation as a component of her inquiry. She says she seeks to enable a conversation between the tensions of 'paint and clay'. It is this push-pull between the gestural painterly mark, and the pinched and beaten archetypal form, where the conversation begins." Susan Ostling
